Netflix unveiled its most ambitious Indian content slate to date at an event in Mumbai, announcing ten original series that will debut between late 2026 and the end of 2027. The investment underscores India's importance to the streamer's global growth strategy.
Highlights from the Slate
The lineup includes "The Corridors," a Hindi-language political thriller set in Delhi's power circles, created by the team behind "Sacred Games." A Tamil-language cricket drama titled "Nets" will explore the underbelly of small-town cricket academies. Malayalam thriller "The Quiet Ones" is described as India's answer to Nordic noir.
Perhaps the most anticipated project is an adaptation of Amitav Ghosh's "The Hungry Tide," a literary epic set in the Sundarbans, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The series will be Netflix's most expensive Indian production to date.

The announcement puts pressure on competitors Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar (now Jio Cinema), and Apple TV+, all of whom are ramping up Indian investments. The streaming wars in India show no signs of cooling.
